Young woman holding and pinching cellulite on her legCellulite is an unsightly but non-serious medical condition known in medical circles by rather difficult sounding names like Dermopanniculosis deformans or Adiposis edematosa but simply put it is nothing but fat under the skin. There are different grades of cellulite and it is mostly seen on the thighs and buttocks. The exact cause of the occurrence of cellulite is not very well understood but it does seem to have a hormonal cause as it is not seen in males. Other causes are

    • Genetics
    • Diet-Consisting of Excess fat, carbohydrates and salt
    • Lifestyle- Lack of exercise
